Due to the lack of time and budget, our device capacity and software display are limited, i.e. wired sensor is not suitable for dining hall, since tables are distributed across the dining hall, wired sensors are inconvenient in terms of power supply and wiring, wireless device is much more adoptable.
Then, we can write a web crawler to fetch real-time menu if Columbia Dining provides APIs, instead of manually update. Beside, adding data visualization for users to view their past ratings is also a great improvement. Currently, users cannot view their ratings from the menu of each dining hall, so it may be inconvenient if the user decides to make the choice on their own, because dish names are difficult to remember. |
